The Microbiology Technical Specialist is responsible for the technical operations of a designated laboratory area/section and serves as a technical resource of staff for a given designated discipline. The position ensures all duties in the lab are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards, and complies with all criteria mandated by the appropriate accrediting and licensing agencies. Analyzing lab testing is pretty complex. We depend on the knowledge and skills of our MT’s when it comes to evaluating medical lab tests to determine what’s happening with our patients. What you’ll do:

  • Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, or spinal, to determine presence of normal or abnormal components
  • Collect biological specimens from patients
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment used in quantitative or qualitative analysis
  • Enter data from analysis of medical tests or clinical results into computer for storage

MT, MLT, medical , tech, technologist, specialist, micro, chemistry, MLS, laboratory, lab, clinical, scientist





Required: Associate's Degree

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree



Required: Science

Preferred: Medical Technology



Preferred: More than 5 years in a laboratory specific discipline

More than 2 years of supervisory experience



Required: MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), (NAACLS) or equivalent
