Additional benefits we offer to support our caregivers (in effect until June 30, 2021):

Responsibilities

Our Sonographer plays a vital role in our Imaging department. The Sonographer performs ultrasound exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Director; Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care to completion of test.  Performs complete diagnostic imaging test inclusive of positioning patient, equipment management, and documentation of findings.

 

What you need in this role:

 

Great Interpersonal Skills - Our patient’s require a thorough explanation of all procedures and will ask many questions throughout the process. The Sonographer will need to be able to remain patient, courteous, explain the procedure in easy terms and answer all questions for the patient. The Sonographer also needs clear communication skills to communicate daily with Physicians and other team members throughout the day.  

 

Flexibility and Stamina – The Sonographer will be on their feet most if not all of the day. They will be taking images of a patient’s body from a variety of angles and will need to be able to coach a patient through the process in a calm manner while providing a comforting experience to the patient. Alertness will be key so you can properly assess ultrasound Images.

 

Organizational Skills – Sonographers need to be very organized as they are double checking vital  clinical information such as, checking health records and reviewing all documentation to ensure safe and accurate scans are being obtained.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic or Sonography Technology.
  • Registered Ultrasound Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(V) with one (1) additional advanced level registry as follows:   (S) (VS) (BS) or:
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)(RVT) with one (1) additional advanced level registry as follows:  (AB)(BR)(FE)(OB/GYN)(PS) or:
  • Registered as RVS with CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) with one (1) additional advanced level registry through ARRT or ARDMS.
  • BLS certification (through an approved AHA program)
  • Required: One (1) year related work experience
  • Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in discipline
