CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services. Is responsible to assist in the implementation, provision and coordination of social services offered to patients in all patient areas but specifically to units that require MSW license such as Psychiatry and KDU. All the criteria-based duties and standards within this document will be performed according to department and hospital wide policies, procedures and guidelines.
Responsible for participation in multi-disciplinary discharge planning team meetings to assess and arrange discharge needs or alternate level of care.
Required Education for Staff Job Levels
Graduate of an accredited university with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Licensed as social worker in ND (LMSW ) or in the process of obtaining license within 6 months. Until license is received will work as a social work designee in accordance with ND Board of Social Work Practice Requirements.
Required Minimum Experience
Minimum of 2 -3 years of supervised social work working directly with individuals is preferred.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong listening, oral and written communication skills are important.
Ability to operate computers, develop reports and maintain records.
Ability to manage conflict effectively and develop positive interpersonal working relationships with others, both within the department and with staff in other departments. Must be able to relate well with patients, families , physicians and other healthcare professionals throughout the medical center.
PREFERRED Education and/or Experience
Preferred experience in a healthcare setting , specifically hospital
