Responsibilities

This position performs duties of a medical technologist and technical consultant to provide support to assure quality laboratory testing. Assures laboratory testing policies and procedures will meet regulatory requirements and aids the physician in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients according to established standards and practices of laboratory medicine. This position contributes to the mission and vision of CHI Health. This position may perform certain duties of a medical technologist.

  1. Monitor technical aspects of the designated specialty area, acts as a resource for technical information, looks for systematic errors and advises technical staff on instrument issues, and works for resolution.
  2. Leads the development and implementation of new tests, creates policies and procedures of their designated area, and standardize practices.
  3. Promotes stewardship through test utilization and cost reduction efforts.
  4. Uses strategic innovation to develop technology.
  5. Assists with training of new staff and students, meeting established goals, and reducing errors.

Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science, or Medical Laboratory Science.

ASCP or AMT registered MT, MLT or  Registered in the area of specialty
