Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

Assists in the delivery of patient care and performance of established tasks and procedures under the supervision of a physically present and immediately available Registered Nurse. Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization.  This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Set-up, troubleshoot, calibrate, cleans, and maintain Dialysis equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s and organization guidelines
  2. Performs routine water cultures and records results in log book and monitors water purification system
  3. Assists in making observations, gathering data, and identifying patient care needs
  4. Assists with patient transports and transfers
  5. Answer telephones, filing, greet patients/visitors, transcribe provider’s orders, electronic data entry, and assist with documentation
  6. Assists with cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
  7. Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies
  8. Utilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies, and procedures

Qualifications

Required Licensure and Certifications

Unlicensed Assistive Persons (UAP) Registration by the North Dakota Board of Nursing, Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) and Dialysis Tech certification by a state or National Program

Required Education for Staff Job Levels

High School Diploma or GED

Required Minimum Experience

No experience required

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong oral communications skills

Ability to deal with conflict and difficult people

Strong critical thinking skills

Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processes

Ability to manage multiple priorities

PREFERRED Education and/or Experience

Dialysis Tech experience preferred
