Position Summary:

The Paramedic-I assists in the delivery of patient care and services to defined patient populations and their families under direction of the Registered Nurse, Manager, Director and Coordinator. The EMT - Paramedic practices Relationship Centered Care in collaboration with CHI St. Luke’s Hospital Systems values of Reverence, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED Required
• One year direct patient care experience preferred
• Required: 1 year experience as a Paramedic

Licensure or Certification:

• Valid, current, State of Texas Paramedic License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) AND Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of basic and advanced life support techniques, pharmacology, and clinical pathways.
• Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work in an effective and efficient manner.
• Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical data.
