CHI Saint Joseph Health System

At CHI Saint Joseph Health, part of CommonSpirit Health, we're dedicated to building healthier communities. Our comprehensive health system offers 135 locations throughout central and eastern Kentucky, including hospitals, physician groups, clinics, primary care centers, specialty institutes and home health agencies.

The administrative intern program offers an opportunity to learn about the organizational dynamics, structure, challenges, mission, values and complexity of a multi-site statewide health system.  This unique opportunity provides an experiential learning environment where the administrative intern will have the opportunity to be exposed to the full continuum of care ranging from Women's services and birthing centers to home health to behavioral, to palliative care.  The administrative intern will interact with members of the senior executive team of both CHI Saint Joseph Health and at our facility leadership levels.  Inherent in this process is the growth and development of key leadership skills and techniques centering around communication, strategy, operations, and people leadership.  The administrative intern will likely have daily interaction with the senior most members of our team and will be facilitated through a series of rotations to facilities across the Commonwealth to engage in learning a variety of health system operations and functions.  It is assumed that the administrative intern will take an active part in their learning and development and will take initiative to participate and express interest in projects beneficial to the health system.

The intern will interact with all levels of corporate and department personnel in areas of the corporate offices, facilities, and other centers of care.  These may include but will not be limited to clinics, hospitals, outpatient ambulatory, home health, corporate centers of excellence, CommonSpirit Health national offices, and community outreach venues.
