Chemical Dependency Tech - Part Time Evenings/Nights - Grand Island/St. Francis

Base rate plus eligible for benefits

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Evaluates and assess the bio-psycho-social needs of patients.

2. Assists in determining the most appropriate level of care for the patient.

3. Responds to client requests for information/support in a timely manner.

4. Develops comprehensive treatment plans when indicated and in accordance with Alegent Health Psychiatric Associates policy and procedures.

5. Demonstrates appropriate referral practices and documents the same, including referrals to treating physicians for Axis III diagnosis.

6. Provides progress notes, treatment plan updates and discharge summaries in accordance with charting procedures.

7. Documentation reflects progress toward goals as established in the treatment plan.

8. Conducts therapy sessions utilizing appropriate intervention strategies in the most appropriate modality (individual, couple, family and group therapy and didactic teaching).

9. Provides case management intervention as needed.

10. When indicated identifies and refers patients with co-morbid mental health disorders to appropriate clinicians for reassessment and treatment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic knowledge of AA and NA programs

Education/Licensure: 

High School Diploma or GED required

Current Med Aide Certificate with the state of Nebraska - helpful but not required.  Needs to be able to obtain within 6 months

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities   Must have good interpersonal  Skills to be able to de-escalate potential tense situations.  Be able to listen with out judgement.  Assist clients with daily treatment programing   Perform basic lifesuppor/first aide if necessary. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual criteria and appropriate treatment planning for the various Chemical Dependency categories.  Ability to determine the most appropriate level of care and triage patients accordingly.  Basic knowledge of managed care and employee assistance service requirements.  Ability to process and complete charting tasks in a timely manner.  Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to manage and prioritize a wide variety of tasks.  Ability to constructively problem solve and resolve conflicts effectively. Demonstrates personal traits of a high level of motivation, team orientation, professionalism, trust, integrity and places a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.
