The Director – Cardiovascular Surgical Services provides clinical leadership and management for the cardiovascular surgical health care service lines within St. Vincent Health System. The Director is responsible for promoting the CHI / St. Vincent Health System core values and vision. Accountable for operational effectiveness, quality of care and service for the designated Service Line. In addition, the Director is responsible for employee, medical staff and community relations and ensures that the services provided are responsive to the community’s health needs and integral to the achievement of the CHI / St. Vincent Health System mission and goals. Responsibilities include planning, growth and development of the Service Line as well as accountability for overall fiscal performance and results of all departments within the Service Line. Creates team based quality improvement plans, including definition of team goals, utilizing performance measures and appropriate analysis tools, changing and improving performance through feedback, coaching and teaching. As an overall responsibility of the clinic/department performance.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities in acute care, outpatient, or ambulatory setting in healthcare. Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Master’s Degree in one of the following: Business, Nursing, Healthcare Administration or other healthcare related field preferred.
Recommends and develops services relating to the community needs in the area of service line specialty. Consults, coordinates, communicates and cooperates with businesses, governments, citizen groups and other community participants to identify community health needs and facilitate the development of plans to meet these needs and improve the health status of the population.
Acts as catalyst for change within the organization; responds to change with flexibility and adaptability to overcome organizational resistance and inertia; demonstrates the ability to focus and energize associates to work together for change; gains maximum support from others for new initiatives.
Supports CHI / St. Vincent Health System Health by assuming any other responsibilities that are mutually agreed upon to ensure the effective functioning of the CHI / St. Vincent Health System ministry
