The LPN utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation) in a supervised, systematic approach to the direct and indirect care of patients and their families.The LPN assumes responsibility and is accountable for actions taken independently and delegated by supervisors in the delivery of patient care. Responsible for assisting providers with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks such as chart management. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from clinic services. Conveys a positive image of clinic. May be assigned to specific medical specialist to help with patient care related to that specialty. The medical assistant serves in a multidisciplinary capacity providing general services to a wide variety of populations including pediatric, medical, surgical, ambulatory, orthopedic, geriatric, and women’s health.
