Responsibilities

Food and Nutrition Services – 60%
Directly oversees Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) operations for all CommonSpirit, including nutrition focused clinical functions for nutritionists, registered dietitians, and any other comparable position, as well as all business and operational facets of FNS in alignment with interdependent areas such as medical and clinical services, contracts, labor relations and union, among others. All programs and practices will be industry leading evidence-based in operational efficiency and effectiveness. 

 

Support Services – 40%
Responsible for leading supporting ancillary services business issues, strategies, post-merger integration, divestiture planning, performance/process improvement, vendor negotiations and management, budgeting, policies, standardized operating procedures (SOPs), internal customer alignment, patient experience, technology systems, employee engagement, etc.

 

Leads the operations design/redesign, implementation, and management of a system wide infrastructure for ancillary services in alignment with system key performance goals, initiatives, and indicators.

 

Oversees the performance/process improvement program design, development and management for ancillary services.

 

Leads Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) initiatives, including risk assessment and integration planning of ancillary services.  The pre-merger planning entails work stream identification, conducting executive planning meetings with all levels of the organizations, synergy analysis and recommendation formulation.  Post-merger planning entails chartering work streams with key performance indicators, facilitating progress toward goals and evaluating legacy leaders post-merger.  Thie leader will also do a good bit of PI for value capture activities and have a strong partnership with BI.

 

Leads professional development planning in alignment job descriptions and core competencies.

Drives evidence-based process, procedure, business outcomes and systems scalable and consistent across all division, regions and facilities in collaboration with cross-discipline and area (i.e. divisions, regions) leaders.

Supports other system, division, regional, and facility initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum seven (7) years (10 preferred) of leadership experience in designing, managing and implementing operations systems/programs across multiple sites. Minimum five (5) years nutritional services experience (7 preferred).  

 

Master's degree in a business or equivalent is required, as well as a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nursing or related field.

 

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification; Master Black Belt preferred.

 

Both broad and deep experience creating and implementing new processes, or improving existing processes that drive operational efficiencies in Nutrition and Environmental services.

 

Detailed understanding of financial planning and budget management, support and development processes, operational reporting.

 

Self-confident with ability to work with and influence leaders and staff.

 

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, gaining trust and confidence as a strategic partner from all levels within the organization.

 

Very strong work ethic and team player with a positive “do what it takes” attitude.

 

Strong problem solving, organizational and collaboration skills.

 

Outstanding analytical skills and strong ability to interpret and present key findings and recommendations.

 

Excellent written, oral and presentation skill.s
