Responsible for completing the accounting Functions of the assigned location/facility on an accurate and timely basis within the framework of the objectives and policies established. contributes to the development, implementation and maintenance of the accounting and financial policies and procedures.
1. Coordinate and perform physical inventories, reconcile results to the official general ledger balances
2. Prepare journal entries to reflect changes or corrections to inventory and reserve accounts in accordance with GAAP
3. Analyze capital reserve levels related to malpractice, worker’s compensation and group health benefits
4. Prepare recommendations for adjustments to the general ledger accounts
5. Assist departments in researching questions relating to inventory issues and reserves
6.Assume responsibility for the sale of silver commodities to an outside vendor
7.Assist in the compilation of schedules required by the annual audit
8.Assist with the capital budget process. Includes training classes, prep work for capital budget process as well as the review meetings
9.Assume responsibility for the bond reimbursement report provided to Treasury each month
10.Organize and perform special studies and summarize results and recommendations in reports relevant to management
11. Assist the department in special projects as needed
*Bachelor's Degree - Accounting or Finance
*Two (2) years experience in Accounting
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Proficiency in Excel and Word
*Strong written and oral communication skills to interact with all levels of hospital management
