MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is looking for an inpatient decentralized supervisor who will serve as medication diversion officer for the department and supervise decentralized pharmacists. Supervisory responsibilities include, but not limited to maintaining the schedule, hiring, training and supervising the pharmacy staff in decentralized role. They will work closely with the centralized pharmacist supervisor, clinical pharmacy specialists and clinical pharmacy manager to ensure adequate staffing and that pharmacy staff have the necessary knowledge and competency to perform essential functions and advance pharmacy practice. In addition they will be expected to staff in the area of their preference and provide patient focused, outcome oriented pharmaceutical care to patients 30-50% of the time. Ideal candidate for this position would be someone with experience as clinical pharmacist in hospital setting who interested in taking on a supervisory role or someone with experience in pharmacy operations with strong clinical background.



Pharmacy degree (BS or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE approved college of pharmacy (required) 

Successful completion of ASHP-accredited PGY-1 or PGY-2 residency or equivalent.

MBA or equivalent is a plus



A minimum 3 years’ experience in hospital pharmacy practice with general knowledge of pharmacy operations (required)

Clinical experience or operations supervisors/manager or equivalent leadership role (preferred)
