The Division Chief Philanthropy Officer serves as the Arizona/Nevada Service Area Leader in Philanthropy with oversight responsibilities for all affiliated fundraising foundations in the service area. S(he) will broad responsibilities for providing strategic vision, policy development, leadership and direction to ensure philanthropic support of programs and services for the service area for the Dignity Health foundations. By engaging senior leadership, board members and other key stakeholders in the fund-raising process, s(he) will signa a significant change in the importance and utility of philanthropy and private support. Designs and implements policy and programs that will produce increasing levels of support across the service area network of hospitals and foundations.


  • Responsible for the implementation and execution of ongoing, comprehensive fundraising operations, in support of and in concert with the mission of the foundations in the Service Area and may directly lead one or more local foundations.
  • Leads the development of a comprehensive fundraising plan which responds to the defined needs of the supported organization(s).
  • Manages and oversees professional fundraising and support staff, and might be assigned as the Foundation lead with Board and community-leaders in growing financial and public relations support for the associated supported organization(s).
  • Ensures efficiencies and works in concert with each other in the Service Area. Leverages shared information, resources, staff, systems, networks, and knowledge to increase productivity.
  • Acts as the Philanthropy Service Area Leader at System Philanthropy Leadership Team meetings, Service Area Philanthropy meetings, and at Service Area Board meetings.
  • Acts as an advocate for appropriate philanthropy involvement in the capital acquisition process for the Service Area.



Bachelor's Degree Required.

Ten years of progressive foundation leadership experience required.

Experience in Health Care fund development preferred. Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communications, interpersonal relationship building, and planning and organizational development required.

CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) preferred.
