CommonSpirit Health was formed by the alignment of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health in 2019. With our combined resources, CommonSpirit is committed to building healthy communities, advocating for those who are poor and vulnerable, and innovating how and where healing can happen, both inside our hospitals and out in the community.
Working in critical care as an Float pool nurse offers various clinical challenges to nurses who choose this clinical area. Your patients are critically ill and unstable following extensive injury, surgery, or life-threatening disease. You must be able to multitask, wearing many hats daily, including patient advocate, family advisor, and, in some cases, a friend. You excel in these roles because you understand that your talent for nursing and compassion for others complement one another.
We recognize the intensive care unit can be physically and emotionally exhausting. You are continually monitoring high acuity patients and need to act quickly should the slightest change occur. You sometimes feel drained, but forget those feelings when your patients show signs of improvement, thanks to you
