CHI St. Alexius Health, part of CommonSpirit Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services. Responsible for the overall implementation, provision and coordination of addiction services offered to patients in the program. Will collaborate with primary care providers, referring physicians, and collaborates with Chair of Department of Psychiatry or designee as necessary. This collaboration may occur telephonically, electronically or on site. All the criteria based duties and standards within this document will be performed according to policies, procedures and guidelines within this document, Partial Hospitalization Program and St. Alexius Medical Center
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Addictions Counseling
Licensure: Licensed as an Addictions Counselor by the ND Board of Addiction Counseling examiners
Experience: One year experience, or a Master's degree may substitute for one year experience
Skills: Working knowledge of basic clinical skills in delivery of patient care. Aware of State requirements for facility license, working knowledge of program development and implementation. Must be able to communicate, maintain records and develop reports. Must be able to use computer, keyboard and telephone.
Interpersonal Skills: Good communication skills are necessary because of the constant communication, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors and medical center staff. Accountable for own conduct, promotes and supports positive working relationships among the staff, between disciplines, departments, patients, families and visitors. Maintains confidentiality.
Physical Effort: Ability to move light weights. Ability to move freely throughout the medical center. Ability to implement non-violent crisis intervention skills.
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt/Exempt
Other: Limited exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Limited exposure to infectious diseases. Able to perform effectively in emergency and stressful situations.
