It takes a special type of nurse to work in surgery. Not only do they have to be skilled in the operating room, but they also have to maintain composure and have a readiness to respond to a wide variety of patient care and safety challenges, that can happen quickly.   Most patients will never fully realize what their surgical nurse did for them during their most vulnerable moments, but we do. If you like performing miracles every day, then surgery is the place for you! 

What you’ll do:

  • Support and facilitate the surgeon and surgical team in successful surgical care
  • Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
  • Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
  • Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
  • Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients 
  • Opportunity to learn to scrub

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Active nursing license in Nebraska or multistate privilege
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a surgical setting
