Responsibilities

At Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, we deliver humankindness through a wide range of health, social and support services in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona.  As part of our team, you will provide customer service expertise, support and oversight that helps ensure our patients receive exceptional care.  As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to champion the change by joining in our mission of healing through humankindness.

 

Join a team of friendly professionals as a PBX (Hospital) Operator in Telecommunications. The PBX Operator is responsible for using computer and telephony systems to quickly and kindly answer and appropriately route incoming calls. The PBX Operator handles and announces life safety code calls using multiple systems including overhead public address and digital paging systems. The incumbent communicates clearly and professional to achieve desired goals.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Two years PBX operator, customer service, or hospital related experience.
  • MS Office experience, including MS Outlook.
  • Strong Computer skills and very good typing skills are required.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize during high stress situations (code scenarios).
  • Comfortable and clear speaking voice when making public address announcements.
  • HS/GED

 

Preferred:

  • Three years customer service experience, preferably in a hospital PBX or high volume call center environment.
  • Some college level education.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • English/Spanish bilingual.
