The certified athletic trainer functions in two primary roles:
Required Education for Staff Job Levels | Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program OR a Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field from an accredited college/university. |
Required Licensure and Certifications | Licensed or eligible in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. |
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Clinical skills required vary based on practice setting and programmatic needs of the facility. Equipment knowledge: Computers, therapy modalities, therapy exercise equipment, therapy diagnostic and testing equipment. Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies. |
PREFERRED Qualifications | Experience in an outpatient rehab setting strongly preferred. Experience in a high school or collegiate environment preferred. |
