Responsibilities

The incumbent is accountable for staff functions which enhance the delivery of patient care in accordance with the standards of nursing practice through education clinical role modeling at the bedside standards development quality improvement program development and coordination. The incumbent is responsible modeling educating and promoting professional practice knowledge skills and behaviors. Also acts as a backup to the VAD Coordinator. The incumbent is also accountable for providing high quality cost-efficient and effective health care using financial management human resources management quality assurance planning and program development for the specific units within the division as well as other nursing centers as necessary all in a manner which is consistent with the Mission and Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • To qualify for this position candidates must have a BSN. 
  • This position requires an active registered nurse license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MSN Degree
  • Candidate with two (2) years experience circulating RN in the operating room of an acute care setting.
  • Pre/post experience in an acute care setting.
  • As appropriate for the clinical area othe department is supporting will require one of the following certifications: CNOR, Chemotherapy, Critical Care or RNC.
