Responsibilities

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – St. Bernardine Medical Center


St. Bernardine Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support our dynamic rehabilitation team. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA plays an essential role in delivering hands-on therapeutic care to patients across a wide range of medical specialties, including neurology, orthopedics, oncology, cardiology, medical/surgical, and skilled nursing.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Implement therapeutic treatment plans as delegated by the Occupational Therapist
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate outcomes to the supervising therapist
  • Support patients in regaining strength, mobility, and independence through customized interventions
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with department protocols
  • Promote a healing environment while upholding the Mission and Core Values of St. Bernardine Medical Center

Qualifications

  • Minimum Certificate of Completion for an Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Currently certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or proof of eligibility to sit for the National Certification Exam given by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Inc.;
  • A licensed applicant must have proof of current applicant status
  • Current AHA-BLS certification.
