Position Summary:
As a Manager Social Services at our Hope Street Family Center, you will provide supervision for case management personnel (Family Service Coordinators), clinical interventions for at-risk children and families, and leadership for interdisciplinary training. You will represent the Center at local, state and national meetings, participate as a member of the management team, and provide direction for the development of Center programs and services.
Some of the primary responsibilities are as follows:
- Assist with interviewing, hiring and orienting new staff, and complete annual performance evaluations for assigned FSCs.
- Identify staff training needs and plan, develop, and facilitate in-service training to meet these needs
- Provide leadership for weekly case conferences, ensuring that social service and mental health issues are adequately addressed in the development of family service plans.
- Provide social service and mental health consultations on an as-needed basis, including meeting individually with clients and families to assess needs and providing crisis intervention, advocacy, and referrals when indicated, as well as clinical interventions for children, parents, and families through individual, group, and conjoint services.
- Provide leadership for program governance functions, serving as liaison to the Policy Council and Board Committee with primary responsibility for developing parent leadership and civic engagement skills.
- Develop and conduct parent workshops related to issues of family and community violence, self-esteem, stress management, coping strategies, and other social service and mental health-related topics.
- Collaborate and act as a liaison with community agency representatives at various organizational levels to facilitate and coordinate provision of needed services, including, as necessary, convening joint case conferences with staff from other involved agencies.
