Overview

As a Special Procedure Tech, you will provide health care services by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment.  Performs radiologic procedures, angiographic, interventional procedures, and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains pertinent medical history from patient by observation or with oral communication.
  • Performs patient assessment.
  • Recognizes changes in a patient during the exam from the initial assessment.
  • Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics.
  • Documents pertinent medical history from the patient on the radiology request form.
  • Capable of using EHR.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a program of Radiologic Technology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or a graduate of a military program accredited by JRCERT.
  • Preferred: registered, certified, or licensed in multimodalities such as CT, NM, PET, MRI, US, or routine radiography.
