Responsibilities

  • Greets and directs the clients and other visitors in a prompt and courteous manner.  Utilizes skills to assure satisfied clients.
  • Notifies the providers of client’s arrival.  Monitors waiting time to ensure the client is seen within 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment time. 
  • Communicates a professional attitude with clients, visitors and other hospital personnel using language and materials based on the consideration of the client’s age, cognitive/physical abilities and/or developmental needs.  Assures confidentiality of patient and other hospital information.
  • Effectively triage telephone calls and prioritize the needs of the caller.
  • Identify individuals calling in crisis situations and expeditiously connect caller to appropriate clinical personnel.
  • Recognize the vulnerability of individuals seeking information and consistently demonstrate respectful, sensitive, friendly, professional customer service.
  • Apply knowledge of CHI Health levels of care and managed care contracts to facilitate appropriate referrals for individuals inside and outside the CHI Health system.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all client information.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

Previous experience in a medical setting preferred.

 

Education

High school graduate or equivalent with specialized training in typing, transcription, medical terminology and record keeping is preferred.  Equivalent education/experience will be considered.
