Job Summary / Purpose

The Clinical Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing clinical communication strategies. This professional develops and implements communication plans and programs that promote our clinical services, relay important medical information, and supports the needs of both our clinical teams and patients. The manager

will also play a vital role in informing crisis communication and reputation management strategies related to clinical matters.

 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic communication plan that promotes the organization's clinical services and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various clinical departments to effectively communicate their achievements, breakthroughs, and updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design and implement processes for timely and accurate clinical communication during crisis and emergency situations.
  • Manage communication of complex medical and scientific information, translating it into digestible, relatable content for various audiences.
  • Work with the PR and marketing departments to ensure alignment and consistency in communication of clinical matters.
  • Oversee updates to clinical content on the external website and internal intranet.
  • Drive patient preference, engagement and satisfaction through effective clinical communication.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of clinical communications policies and strategies, adapting them as necessary.

Qualifications

Required Education, Skills and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in communications, with deep experience.
  • Knowledge of healthcare and medical terminologies and technologies.
  • Experience in reputation management and online/social media monitoring.
  • Experience managing external PR agencies and vendors.
  • Proficiency in media monitoring and PR software/tools.
  • Proficiency in digital communication platforms and tools.
