Plans the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift. Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level. Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them. Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

Be a vital part of our nursing team as a Charge Nurse on PACU! In this role, you'll oversee patient care and provide leadership to our nursing staff during your shift. You will play a key role in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality care. Responsibilities include:

• Supervising and directing nursing staff on the shift.
• Assigning patients to nurses based on patient acuity and staff skills.
• Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
• Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
• Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.
• Understanding of how to anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level; ability to apply this understanding appropriately to diverse situations.
• 'Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
• Knowledge of healthcare policies for all clinical practices and applicable laws and regulations governing proper clinical practice; ability to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations.

• Associates Degree in Nursing (e.g. ADN) required and actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or other-related field (e.g., BSN/BBA/BHA).
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
• Registered Nurse with current CA License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) other credentials or credential modules may be required.
• PALS certification required
• LA City Fire Card required within 90 days of hire.
