As Santa Cruz County’s heart attack (STEMI) receiving center Dominican Hospital provides cutting edge cardiac care. The hospital’s heart attack treatment times consistently beat the national average and the hospital offers two cardiac catheterization labs available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Groundbreaking cardiac procedures at Dominican include the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure which allows for heart valve replacement without opening a patient’s chest.
Dominican Hospital has forged significant partnerships with area hospitals to bring exceptional care to Santa Cruz County. The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is also offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision under the general direction of a radiologist and radiology administration. In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity Health the Sonographer is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for performing diagnostic testing used in the assessment planning implementation and evaluation of care for patients.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Must have successfully passed the ARDMS Registry for Abdomen or Ob/Gyn; OR Completion of an ARRT program and successfully obtained a Sonography licensure.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; and Successful completion from an accredited Sonography school.
  • Current Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required.
  • Completion of an ARRT program with current Sonography licensure required OR Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographers (ARDMS) in ONE of the following areas: Abdomen OR Ob/Gyn required
  • Must achieve certification in both Abdomen and Ob/Gyn within one year of hire required

PREFERRED:

  • RVT experience
  • Associate Degree in Science ARRT CRT & CRT Fluoroscopy
