Responsibilities

Job Summary:


Manages day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure proper functioning of the laboratory and the quality of laboratory services.

  • Foresees, plans, and implements overall laboratory activities; ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of departmental operations.
  • Ensures compliance with laboratory guidelines and policies.
  • Oversees and develops laboratory personnel training; instructs, supervises, and manages technicians to conduct proper experimental practices.
  • Leads research projects; mentors and supervises laboratory members in executing research project tasks.

Qualifications

Minimum: 

 

Experience
A minimum of five years of progressive experience in Laboratory Services within Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science, including at least two years with an emphasis on medical laboratory management.

 

Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

 

Licensure
Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or an equivalent credential is required. Additional state licensure may be required as applicable.
