Overview

 

CHI Oakes Hospital is a 20-bed critical access hospital that provides various inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14,000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is also a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital building was newly-constructed in 2007 replacing a 50-year old building and in 2010 Oakes Community Clinic was opened within the hospital building. The hospital is part of a larger values-based organization CommonSpirit Health.

Responsibilities

Work in the heart of #humankindess at CHI Oakes Hospital. We are looking for a responsible and compassionate Acute Care Registered Nurse with top-notch clinical skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. It is also important to display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively educate patients and their families on the in-home healthcare process. 

 

As an Acute Care Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s individual physician as you work in both Medical Surgical and the ER.  This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.

What you'll do...

  • Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs
  • Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
  • Administering patients’ medications and providing treatments according to physicians’ orders
  • Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 
  • Current, unencumbered North Dakota or compact licensed Registered Nurse.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • ACLS, TNCC required. 
  • PALS certification or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.

Preferred:

  • ER experience preferred.
