Overview

As our Chaplain at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, you will offer pastoral support to patients of all ages, employees, volunteers, and visitors as required for all faiths. This position supports the mission, vision and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health and CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson.

CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson part of CommonSpirit Heath a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood Colorado. The faith-based system operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals. Additional services offered within the system are: long-term care assisted and residential living communities community health services organizations home health agencies and numerous outpatient facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides spiritual support in emergency situations to patients and families.  
  • On-call rounds made to patients when requested.  Provision of sacraments and anointings.  
  • Responds to crises such as Code Blues, Traumas and deaths as needed. 
  • Coordinates care with local clergy. 
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Post-Secondary Training with Pre-Requisite Experience
  • Degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, Psychology, Counseling or Social Work.
  • Minimum of two years of health care work.
  • At least one quarter of clinical pastoral or its equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience 

  • Preferably two years of pastoral work.  

Preferred Licensure and Certifications

  • BCC-APC; or CSCPE; or BCC-BCC; or CHAPLAIN
