Surgery Certified Coding Specialist Per Diem

** This is a fully remote position. **

• Analyzes and codes multi-specialty profee surgery cases performed in the OR (including but not limited to: General Surgery, Plastics, Ortho, Neurosurgery, and Otolaryngology) by reviewing documentation and confirming coding is in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Identifies trends / problems in medical documentation and recommends possible solutions. Assists with billing and documentation in daily interaction with physicians regarding various inquiries relating to CPT and ICD-10 coding.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
• One of the following: Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) or CCS--Physician-based (CCS-P).
• 5 years of CPT and Diagnostic coding experience in a healthcare provider or a third party payer setting. Clinical knowledge preferred.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
