Responsibilities

The Medical Safe Haven Patient Advocate provides support services for the Medical Safe Haven, supporting continuum of care for patients who are victims and survivors of human trafficking. This position will serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and external agencies. In addition to providing patient support, the Medical Safe Haven Patient Advocate will work with MSH program staff and partner agencies
to increase awareness and provide a bridge to referrals and improve access to comprehensive care. This includes community outreach and engagement such as representing the Medical Safe Haven program at conferences, healthcare MSH curriculum training, community events, and partner meetings.

Qualifications

  • AA or Bachelor’s degree preferred or 3+ years experience working in social services, or organization serving at-risk populations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work or other related field of study that demonstrates a knowledge of vulnerable and at-risk patient populations, or 3+ plus years’ experience in working with vulnerable and at-risk patient populations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project support
