JOB SUMMARY

As a Per Diem Rad Tech at St. Clare Hospital, you will perform radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures in various locations to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. You will operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality recorded images of the body, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality of patient care through efficient and safe processes that adhere to department protocols and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and proper operation of radiological equipment, adhering to safety regulations, licenses, departmental standards, and protocols.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and operate radiology equipment based on physician orders and department protocols.
  • Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and provide comfort and reassurance.
  • Utilize equipment and techniques to protect patients, yourself, and others from unnecessary radiation.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate results through proper techniques and procedures.
  • Clean and maintain equipment after each use.
  • Deliver patient care for all age groups while performing radiological exams/procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between the patient and the radiologist.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and advise nursing staff of any significant changes in patient condition.
  • Perform incidental general office duties, including answering phones, scheduling, filing, and ordering supplies.
  • Participate in the training of Radiological Technology students.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence in patient care.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology.
  • One year of recent related work experience (may be obtained through practical education/training).
  • Work experience involving the current technical aspects of patient care in a radiology department is preferred.
  • Knowledge of radiological examination concepts, standards, procedures, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to x-ray examinations and equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to document work activities accurately and timely.
  • Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) required.
  • Current Washington State certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Current healthcare provider BLS certification.
