Manager Clinical Pharmacy

For more than 70 years, Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State, providing acute care and a full range of medical services. The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care, Stroke Care, Orthopedics, Neurological Surgery, Comprehensive Cancer Care, Maternity Care, and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services, along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. As our Pharmacy Manager, you will be a strategic leader and clinical authority, orchestrating safe, efficient, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care delivery.

Every day, you will lead and supervise the pharmacy team, meticulously reviewing and authorizing prescriptions for safety (interactions, dosing, allergies). You'll oversee efficient workflow, from authorization to dispensing, and consult with doctors and nurses to troubleshoot medication issues.

• Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of pharmacy operations and shares clinical initiatives responsibility with Clinical Pharmacy Manager if applicable
• Assists in performance evaluation and competency assessment of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
• Contributes to formulary management and works with health care providers to ensure formulary compliance. Participates in Strategic and Operational Planning activities and the development of the Pharmacy Department’s annual budget.
• Educates, mentors, and evaluates pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to develop and improve skills necessary for providing pharmaceutical care. Develops and provides educational programs, learning modules, and knowledge assessment tools.
• Educates other health care professionals regarding medications to promote optimal patient care via in-services, educational programs, face-to-face interactions, etc.
• This position may serve as the Residency Program Director as applicable.

Required

• Bachelors Of Science Pharmacy and Minimum of 3 years of recent pharmacy (or similar) work experience, upon hire or
• Doctor Of Pharmacy Pharmacy and Minimum of 3 years of recent pharmacy (or similar) work experience, upon hire and
• Pharmacist: CA, upon hire

Preferred

• Masters Other MBA, MS, MHA, etc or Minimum of 1 year in a leadership position or pharmacy residency completed, upon hire
