The Surgical Tech II will assist in patient care and preparation of surgical patients, perform scrub duties and related procedures in accordance with their license, and perform in the advanced roles of preceptor, service specialist and understand sterile technique for instruments and surgical situations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Assists surgical team in the scrubbing role according to prescribed standards and licensure
  • Passes instruments, suture products, medication, and sponge materials to surgeon
  • Assists with retracting of tissue and organs, and suctioning by holding the retracting instrument
    which has been placed by the surgeon
  • Ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure
  • Proficiently function in the scrub role for all services provided

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Certified Surgical Tech (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CST/CSFA) or LVN
  • BLS-CPR
