Overview

Bakersfield Memorial Hospital includes 385 general acute beds, 48 licensed critical care beds, 13 state-of-the-art surgical suites, and a full-service Emergency Department with an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Nationally Certified Stroke Center. In addition, we offer a beautiful Family Care and Birthing Center, the Lauren Small Children's Center including the area's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Family Care Center, a Level II NICU, the Sarvanand Heart, and Brain Center with Kern County's first Bi-Plane Interventional Suite, the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbarics, and many more services. Responsibilities

Is expected to perform duties in alignment with mission, vision and values of the organization. Performs duties as a liaison with local colleges to recruit, interview, supervise new graduate RN's into the Nurse Residency program. Performs duties in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan, Joint Commission and other licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies. Plans, directs, manages/conducts and evaluates all educational activities and programs related to the Nurse Residency Program.


Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience in an acute care setting.

Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications. BSN required

CA RN and BLS.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Able to work with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. 

Able to work with staff and students under a variety of circumstances. 

Work at a fast pace in an active work environment. 

Basic Microsoft capabilities.

Having education and/or experience in adult learning principles

MSN preferred

ACLS/ PALS preferred

ECC instructor status preferred. Certification in specialty area(s) preferred.
