Responsibilities

Job Knowledge/Abilities:

The RN Supervisor in the Float Pool is a highly skilled and experienced registered nurse responsible for providing clinical leadership, supervision, and support to nursing staff across various units and departments within the healthcare facility. This role requires adaptability, strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to quickly integrate into new environments. The RN Supervisor ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care, promotes teamwork, and serves as a resource for staff, patients, and families. This position requires flexibility in scheduling and assignment, as the supervisor will be deployed to areas of greatest need based on patient acuity, staffing levels, and organizational priorities.

Essential duties include:

Clinical Leadership and Supervision:

  • Provides clinical guidance, mentorship, and support to RNs,, and CNA’s/PFT’s across various units.

Staffing and Resource Management:

  • Collaborates with the Nurse Manager/Director of Nursing to address staffing shortages and optimize resource allocation.
  •  Acts as a resource for staff and responds to patient concerns to make sure resolution is achieved and quality of care is maintained. 

Patient Safety and Quality Improvement:

  • Promotes a culture of safety and quality improvement throughout the organization.
  • Assures timely, accurate and complete assessment, intervention, and documentation in the medical record. 

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff.

Professional Development:

  • Stays up-to-date on hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

We requre: 

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN or Bachelors’ Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Two years’ experience and clinical knowledge in the same or similar clinical specialty.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • Certification in specialty area preferred.
  • Current healthcare provider BLS certification.
  • One year Charge nurse or equivalent experience required. Certification in clinical specialty preferred.
