RN New Grad Program-St Bernardine Medical Center

Emergency Department

 

Start Date: 

Our next RN Residency program start date will begin on September 15th, 2025. Completion will be based on 100% validation of competencies during your clinical hours.  Our target candidates are nurses who have graduated within one year prior to the start of the program and who have not previously worked as a registered nurse or interim permittee. Application period is open beginning June 15th, 2025, and will close when we receive enough qualified applications per each opening. 

 

Program Commitment: 

The program consists of a clinical orientation in addition to a 12-month transition-to-practice. The program requires full-time(40-hour) employment during the length of the program (12 months from start).

The New Graduate Residency Program features a challenging program blending classroom didactics with clinical experience and unit socialization.

Cover letters will be reviewed for departmental placement and interest, please include this upon initial application. 

 

Timeline:

  • Requisitions posted June 15th, 2025. The postings may be removed early after 100 applications have been received.
  • Interviews will be held in person beginning June 23rd, 2025-July 2nd, 2025.
  • The first day of Orientation is September 15th, 2025

Qualifications

  • ​Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing within the past 12 months from start of program.
  • 0-12 months of professional nursing (RN) experience.
  • An active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state they will be practicing by start date
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required prior to the start of program
  • Additional Certifications to be required based on department selection.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required prior to the start of program
  • PALS required prior to the start of program
