Overview

Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta is a member of the Dignity Health system of health care providers and is a not-for-profit medical facility. We are designated as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations. In addition to our acute care hospital we also own and operate three Rural Health Clinics providing walk-in immediate care as well as scheduled appointments for routine medical needs.

We are located in the northernmost area of California and are part of a network of care, including Mercy Medical Center Redding and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff. Responsibilities

The Emergency Department Supervisor of Nursing is responsible for the daily operations, clinical oversight, and staff management of the Emergency Department at Mercy Mount Shasta. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care in a fast-paced, critical access hospital environment. The Supervisor collaborates with the Director of Nursing, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient flow, resource utilization, and adherence to established standards of practice. The Supervisor actively participates in the hospital's trauma and stroke programs, quality improvement initiatives, and contributes to a positive and supportive work environment. The Supervisor also plays a key role in disaster preparedness and response within the Emergency Department and the hospital as a whole.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Associate Degree in Nursing

 

Required Licensure and Certifications

RN:CA  BLS-CPR, ACLS, PALS
TNCC required within 12 months of hire
Disaster preparedness certifications, FEMA ICS/NIMS
Training required, within 12 months of hire

 

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
