Overview

Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles, California. Serving over 70,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, heart care, women’s health, and a family birth center. In 2025, we opened our new patient tower, Grand Tower, featuring a dramatically expanded Emergency Department and Family Birth Center that will increase patient comfort and privacy.

Responsibilities

The Certified Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in the manufacture, packaging, and distribution of medications and intravenous solutions; maintains records on drugs ordered by physicians; inventories, receives, unpacks, and stores pharmaceutical items; demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; and performs other related work as required. Provides primary customer service in a variety of settings and may perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of twelve months (12) of training and/or experience under a Registered Pharmacist in the manufacture, packaging, distribution, and filling of physician's medication orders in a hospital/acute care setting.

 

  • Must possess a valid, current certificate as a Board of Pharmacy, State of California Pharmacy Technician.
