Responsibilities

Provide preoperative and postoperative nutritional education specific to Bariatric patients with regard to changes in anatomy, changes in food requirements, and fluid requirements, and elemental deficiencies. Provide instruction on postoperative vitamin and mineral replacement requirements. Provide menu selection assistance and recipes specific to the post op requirements of bariatric patient. Additional Duties Include: Manage Patients for Medical Weight Loss ProgramWrite and maintain patient handbook for Medical Weight Loss ProgramPlan and implement monthly support group meetings. Lecture at monthly support group meetings. Maintain ongoing weight loss data for Bariatric Patients and MWL patients. Teach Nutrition Seminar to Pre-Operative Bariatric Patients (Bi Monthly at present).

Qualifications

Required Education

Bachelors Degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university

 

Required Licensure and Certification

Dietitian in the State of Kentucky

Registired Dietitian
