Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Assists Pharmacy Tech lead in the automation processes
  • Procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately. Files documentation in appropriate locations.
  • Participates in the quality improvement activities of the department. 
  • Assists when Buyer is not available on putting order up, stocking, and placing order with wholesaler.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED

Require Licensure/Certifications:

  • Texas State Board of Pharmacy Licensed Pharmacy Technician
  • Nationally certified as Pharmacy Technician per Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
  • Sterile Compounding Certification.
  • ACPE Nationally Certified.
