Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Manager, Art and Spirituality Center & Mercy Volunteer Services, the Mercy Volunteer Services Program Assistant is responsible for coordinating, communicating and executing various volunteer related services and projects for the Department of Special Needs and Community Outreach. This individual will support the duties and tasks assigned by the Manager through the volunteer recruitment and onboarding process while also supporting recognition and retention efforts and initiatives. This individual is responsible for demonstrating efficient and effective department operations by providing reliable clerical and secretarial support, ensuring clear communication with the Manager and all volunteers, executing duties promptly and reliably, and leveraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills to meet or exceed the responsibilities outlined below.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • One year experience in healthcare, volunteer program coordination or community based organization
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience with Google Workspace
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to be a self-starter, work independently and manage multiple priorities 
  • Ability to be a critical and creative thinker

Preferred:

  • Volunteer program support experience preferred
