Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

Assists Technologists with diagnostic procedures. Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns. Prepares and maintains records and files as directed. Cleans and adjusts equipment. Transports patients to and from radiology to all areas of the Hospital.


Essential Functions

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Assist with procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologist’s expectations and protocols.
  • Displays knowledge and complies with the National Patient Safety goals.
  • Supports and reports any identified compliance matters.
  • Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction.
  • Uses standard precautions, PPE, at all times.
  • Cleans and checks for malfunctioning of stretchers, wheelchairs, bedside commodes, and I.V. poles according to unit protocol.
  • Attends all required educational programs as well as all Learn modules.
  • Identifies and immediately reports any actual or potential hazard observed in the hospital environment.
  • Contributes to the efficient operation and monitoring of the department and utilizes our resources efficiently.
  • Demonstrates complete working knowledge of equipment within the assigned area.
  • Knowledge and performance of the Code of Conduct Standards.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Graduate or High School GED required upon hire. 
  • A minimum of twelve (12) months or enrolled in second semester education in a JRCERT accredited School of Radiology required upon hire. 

  • Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) required upon hire.
