As an essential part of the Marian Medical Center healthcare philosophy, the registered occupational therapist supports and promotes quality patient care under the direction of a registered occupational therapist supervisor. This role involves delivering occupational therapy services, including evaluation and assessment, treatment program planning, implementation, and supporting documentation. The registered occupational therapist will also provide direct supervision to certified occupational therapy assistants, students, volunteers, and aides. This role also includes supporting the development and implementation of new programs and groups. Successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English. They should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients/residents, medical staff, and the public. The selected candidate must also have knowledge of the principles, practices, standards, and techniques for the usage and maintenance of occupational therapy equipment. Finally, they must have knowledge of safety and body mechanics to avoid injury to themselves or their patients.
