Internship Opportunity: CommonSpirit Health is offering an exciting internship opportunity for an undergraduate student majoring in mathematics, statistics, data science, economics, business, finance, or a related quantitative field, who is interested in applying their analytical skills to the world of healthcare. As a Healthcare Analytics Intern within our Payer Analytics & Economics team, you’ll gain hands-on experience analyzing managed care payer data, supporting strategic pricing initiatives, and building models that influence key contract decisions
What you’ll do: Under the guidance of experienced analysts and leadership, you will
Assist in building financial and strategic models to evaluate payer contract proposals and reimbursement structures.
Support the analysis of managed care contract performance, including revenue impact and profitability assessment.
Help prepare and interpret data reports used for payer negotiations and internal strategy discussions.
Learn to navigate and extract data from key healthcare data systems and other internal databases
Collaborate with managed care, clinical, and strategy teams to understand how healthcare operations influence payer analytics
Participate in stakeholder education efforts, including preparing training materials and visual summaries of contract modeling.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Experience with Excel, and Word, Google Suite and/or similar applications; familiarity with tools like SQL, R, Python, or Tableau is a plus but not necessary.
Interest in healthcare systems, economics, or public health with curiosity about healthcare delivery and a passion for making a difference through data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
