Responsibilities

Job Summary:

 

Coordinates and manages patient care employees; directs functioning of the echocardiography and ECG departments; acts as liaison with physicians, patients, families, and staff. Responsible for daily operation activities, employee schedules, call schedules, as well as patient-physician procedure scheduling. Coordinates and supervises HeartLab PACS digital archiving, Epiphany ECG archiving for the department. Act as a liaison between CVD and other departments to maintain access to all systems. Manages the department charges process including daily reconciliation, maintenance of patient records, monitors and ensures HIPAA compliance. Actively participates in and works with the Medical Director and Senior Director in Policy and procedure formulation as well as Quality review of diagnostic studies. Maintains ICAEL accreditation for St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center as well as St. Joseph's at Westgate and St. Joseph's Cancer Center. Functions as Technical Director for the ICAEL accreditation. 

  • Coordinates and evaluates the daily operations of the department (staffing; acuity; budget; supplies, clinical outcomes). Monitors and oversees charge and charge reconciliation. Participates in the recruitment and retention of department employees (open FTEs; turn over rates).
  • Supports hospital operation effectiveness and effectively communicates with staff. Promotes and facilitates patient education and staff development in department.
  • Performs annual and ongoing performances appraisals of department employees based on job descriptions, generic and unit structure standards, protocols, procedures and unit based performance standards.
  • Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit. Evaluates, implements, and troubleshoots the technology in the specialty.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience in lieu of the degree.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in related field. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Five years Registered Sonographer experience, with experience as Supervisor or Clinical Lead

Licensure:

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • American Hearlth Association ACLS and BLS required.
