JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, performs a variety of activities related to prescription processing and daily pharmacy operations workflow. Works in a highly regulated environment and must take care to abide by all state and federal regulations that relate to the practice of pharmacy including record keeping and infection prevention standards and will work in accordance with CommonSpirit Health policies and procedures. Pharmacy technicians are responsible for prescription data entry, insurance billing, preparation and filling of prescription medications, cashiering/customer service duties, and accurately performing pharmaceutical calculations, reconstitution and compounding of oral and topical dosage forms (if applicable). Inventory/stocking tasks for controlled and non-controlled medications along with tracking orders and performing routine clerical/administrative tasks may be required in lieu of a pharmacy coordinator and/or pharmacy buyer.

Required Education and Expeirence
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
One year of retail pharmacy experience or equivalent preferred
Required Licensure and Certification
Registered Pharmacy Tech by the Washington State Dept of Health
