Responsibilities

$5,000 sign on for eligible new hires.
 
Position Summary:
 
Consistent with scope of licensure, parameters of the California Nurse Practice Act, and St. Joseph's Medical Center (SJMC) policy and procedure, renders direct and indirect nursing care to the patient populations.  Acts as the on-site Administrative Supervisor in the absence of the Department Directors for the facility. Coordinates staffing for the nursing units utilizing knowledge of staffing patterns, skill mix and acuity. This position requires the full understanding & active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Standards of Performance and the Core Values. The Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the direction of the Care management Initiatives. This position rarely requires direct patient care. Position requires providing service to one or more age populations including neonates through geriatrics.

Qualifications

Minimum:
  • Minimum 1 year critical care experience
  • Current California RN license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
  • BSN or BSN in process to be completed within 2 years of hire
  • Will be required to work on rotating weekends and alternate work hours
 Preferred:
  • Bilingual
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Prior experience in acute care as a Charge Nurse or Administrative House Supervisor capacity
