The EKG Tech provides all cardiodiagnostic services as ordered by physician in compliance with department's policies and procedures. Independently performs computer-assisted electrocardiograms according to specification in procedure manual. Calls for support when required. Processes EKG test results using computer system and edits EKG reports. Assists with scanning of Holter monitor recordings and processing of results, which includes typing, sending, filing and scheduling. Assists with evaluations of transtelephonic strips and processing of results. Schedules and performs treadmill tests, processes test results and reports results to cardiologist. Assist with general clerical duties, which include testing, logbooks, billing and charge reconciliation. The employee will suport the organizations strategic plan and goals for quality improvement as well as support a teaching environment.
Six months experience in a healthcare setting
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
Acute care experience with Electronic Medical Record or Cerner experience strongly preferred
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements
